Tinned foods and theirs syrups or oils, don't throw them away just yet they could be used for something else.
Tinned fruit syrup
Freeze it in to ice cubes to make favouring to plain water or iced tea
Use it in smoothies
Cake batter, note add less sugar and an egg for this as it will end up too runny and sweet.
Pour over pancakes, or freshly hot made cake.
Sweeten porridge
Add it to over night over night oats.
Vegetable peelings
Clean veg peelings, carrot tops, onion peels ect, keep these in the freezer when you have enough boil these down, for a vegetable stock, this can be stored in glass jars or sealed tubs for up to 3 days or stored in the freezer. If you were to freeze jar leave around an inch of room in the jar
Potato peelings, can been baked in the oven or fried for a snack.
Butternut squash, de-seed wash the seeds though and place in an oven with a little oil salt and pepper. Chilli if you'd like a spice bake for around 15 minutes and allow to cool
